WHAT WE OFFER
![]() It's tough being a kid in today's world. Peer pressure, exposure to bad influences like drugs and gangs can drive the youth of of today to taking the wrong path as they grow into adults. That's why the Boys & Girls Clubs of Denton offers programs and services that work in concert to benefit our members in several key areas such as mind, body and character building.
Mind - Our staff, tutors and volunteers work with each Club member in developing the educational requirements that increase each members academic awareness and help them to become better students. Our Power Hour during the academic year provides our Club members the time required to complete the necessary school studies and those that are having difficulty in specific subjects are tutored by staff members or qualified volunteers.
Body - Building a youth's stamina to withstand the rigors of going to school, playing with friends and staying in good physical shape is provided by staff members that are experts in their prospective fields. Staff members have included professionally trained coaches, college football coaches and players and individuals that have the years of experience needed to reach excellent physical shape. Members are aided by these individuals by teaching the correct methods of getting into shape in a shape by simple, fun and enjoyable means.
Character Building - Many prents of Club members have expressed how they have seen a positive change in their children after attending our Club. Seeing a child's character change in a positive manner is a tremendous reward for the staff and volunteers that have worked diligently in providing positive reinforcement and discipline to our Club members. However, it is the Club member that benefits the most as they continue to grow into productive and positive role models for their friends and family members.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Denton County continually strives to provide the programs and services that will benefit our Club members for years to come. Our promise to our Club members is simple - "Help us help you into becoming a better child and better adult".
